Michael van der Mark rules out MotoGP debut at Assen
Michael van der Mark has ruled himself out of making his MotoGP debut this weekend at Assen despite speculation he was set to fill in for the injured Karel Abraham. According to Dutch website Racesport.nl the 22-year-old, who claimed two WSBK podiums for Pata Honda at Assen this year and will be teaming-up with Casey Stoner and Takumi Takahashi for the Suzuka 8 Hours, was “almost certain” to replace the injured Abraham at his home event. However, the Honda rider has confirmed via Twitter he will not be racing this weekend at Assen despite making himself available to the team. No #DutchGP for me this weekend. Its a team decision.
