Michael van der Mark to make MotoGP debut?
World Superbike rookie and reigning World Supersport champion Michael van der Mark could make his MotoGP debut at Assen this weekend. According to Dutch website Racesport.nl the 22-year-old, who claimed two WSBK podiums for Pata Honda at Assen this year and will be teaming-up with Casey Stoner and Takumi Takahashi for the Suzuka 8 Hours, is “almost certain” to replace the injured Karel Abraham at his home event. Abraham suffered a foot injury last time in Catalunya, leaving him unfit to ride his Open class Honda - the only RC213V-RS using Showa rather than Ohlins suspension and Nissin instead of Brembo brakes.
