Iannone given penalty for Catalunya GP clash with Lorenzo Andrea Iannone will start from the back of the grid at the Assen Grand Prix as punishment for his clash with Jorge Lorenzo at the Catalunya Grand Prix. Iannone glide into the rear of Lorenzo’s Yamaha under braking for Turn 10 as they battled for fifth two thirds of the way through the Catalunya Grand Prix. The incident resulted; both were forced out from race, as the Lorenzo drop down to second place in the championship standings. It was Iannone's fourth failure to finish from seven Grand Prix in 2016 and his second high-profile mistake, after colliding with Ducati team-mate Andrea Dovizioso in Argentina.
