Movistar Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi, who finished fourth in Sunday's MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix, says he never really was close enough to the top three to attack for a podium finish. Race winner and teammate Jorge Lorenzo used a different tyre set-up with the Spaniard opting for the hard front and soft rear while Rossi chose the hard front and harder rear tyre options. But right through the days racing Rossi was just off the pace of the front three despite some fast laps during the end of the race.
