Tunisian racer Taoufik Gattouchi has died after a multi-bike crash during the Losail Cup race supporting this weekend’s opening round of the MotoGP championship at the Qatari track. The 49-year-old was one of a number of riders in the supersport race who fell at turn three on lap 10 of the 15-lap race, and succumbed to his injuries despite being provided with trackside medical care. He was immediately transported by air ambulance to the Hamad Hospital in Doha where resuscitation continued.
