In the second half of 2015 it has become commonplace to see Jorge Lorenzo occupy one of the top two places on Friday afternoon, a run that he continued by setting the second fastest time in FP2 at Phillip Island. Taking full advantage of a solid base setting in his Yamaha M1, Lorenzo led a blustery FP1 before lapping 0.05s off Marc Marquez's fastest time in the afternoon. He is yet to place outside the top two in any Friday session since the Sachsenring.
