Smith tops rain-hit Barcelona MotoGP test
Bradley Smith topped a rain-hit MotoGP test at the Barcelona circuit on Monday following the Catalan Grand Prix. A heavy thunderstorm and showers hit the track at midday, altering the teams' programmes and making others call it a day early. Race winner Jorge Lorenzo and Yamaha teammate Valentino Rossi, who were scheduled to test new parts today, decided not to test as the conditions were too poor to make their time comparable with those of the previous days. Tech 3 Yamaha rider Smith led the way with a best time of 1:42.018, set before the rain hit the circuit.
