– Avintia Racing rider Héctor Barberá underwent surgery in Barcelona earlier this week in an attempt to resolve his recent arm pump problems.Having experienced discomfort at the past three events, Barberá visited Dr. Xavier Mir on Monday, with an MRI revealing that he had compartment syndrome.He was operated on that afternoon, with Dr. Mir working to ease the pressure on the extensor and flexor fascia, and will be able to begin rehab within a week.Doctors declared the surgery a success, although Barberá will be assessed next week before a decision is taken over whether or not he can race at Catalunya.
