Smith confident of good race after lowly qualifying

Bradley Smith admitted that he partly sacrificed his MotoGP qualifying performance in order to put the finishing touches to his race set up on Saturday afternoon. The Englishman qualified in eleventh, one place behind team-mate Pol Espargaro, for Sunday's 23-lap race at Mugello, as the Ducatis and Suzukis maximised their soft tyre advantage in Q2. Nevertheless, Smith refused to be downbeat and believes a good race is possible thanks to a consistent pace he found in FP4.
