Marquez Bounces Back With Victory at COTA
Marc Marquez returned to winning ways with a typically dominant performance at the Circuit of the Americas, his sixth straight MotoGP win in the United States. The reigning champion proved too strong for the Ducati of Andrea Dovizioso and Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi as the two Italians fought to the bitter end over second spot. Pre-race weather forecasts suggested that a wet race was a strong possibility but the sun finally made an appearance in time for the Grand Prix. That didn’t prevent a delay to the race start though with water from an overnight downpour pouring from a bridge overlooking turn three, soaking the circuit in the middle of the left-hander.
